Custom Home Design
Designing custom homes is the very
heart of what we do as a fully licensed architecture firm. Our designs bring
great value to our clients - giving you the ability to create a home
that fits your particular living style, building site,
budget, and aesthetic preference.
Jonathan Miller first started his
company with a particular passion: to work with clients to create
timeless home designs that are completely customized to their
wants and wishes. To this day Jonathan and his staff work personally
with their clients to hand craft timeless designs that meet each of the client's objectives.
If given the privilege of designing
your new home Jonathan Miller can provide the following services:
Schematic Design: Our homes are initially designed with pencil and paper to
conceptualize the plans and building elevations in a loose and artistic manner. We call these initial drawings “get to know you sketches.” These sketches serve as a communication tool that allows our
clients to provide feedback and make changes until a design is reached that they feel good about. During this phase we balance all aspects of the project including the site topography,
solar orientation, Owner’s program and budget, architectural style,
and structural design.
Construction Drawings and Engineering: Once the schematic plans are complete, the design
is programmed into a state-of-the-art, 3-dimensional software that
allows all aspects of the home to be studied and detailed to exacting
standards. During this phase the home is fully dimensioned,
detailed, and engineered into a buildable set of drawings.
Construction Administration: During this phase we oversee the building of your home, meeting with you and the builder, and generally ensuring that your house is built the way that you envisioned it and the way we drew it. This crucial step is often overlooked and if omitted can ultimately produce architecture that does not represent the excellence of the original sketches and drawings. We understand that this is "your baby" and you are investing a lot of time and resources into building your dream home. To get the most benefit out of your investment into a custom home design, you need someone to guide the builder through to the finished product.
